BURIED TREASURES

7-6-09 1

After months and months, I FINALLY got my sewing machine out this weekend and dove into the pile of unfinished projects. I altered a shirt, finished a previous sewing project and hemmed this lovely little skirt. I bought this waaaaay back in February for $13 off a clearance rack at Sears. It fits like a glove with its high waist and pockets :) - and I completely forgot that I had it. I couldn't possibly wear it until it was hemmed, so I took all of 5 months and 15 minutes to make it a great skirt for the rest of the summer.

This outfit was the last in a looong string of options. I really wanted to wear a really bright tank (specifically tomato red) with this, but don't have one. Then, I was going to wear my teal racer back tank, but decided that I need a new racer back bra. Then, since my Monday meeting is in a rather chilly room, I decided I needed sleeves. And since I don't have any cropped cardigans at the moment, had to fall back on the trusty tied oxford, but gray this time (SJP, $10)
Paired it with a big patent belt (Ross, $7.50) and snakeskin sandals (Ross, $9). Pretty happy with the results, but looking forward to the possibilities.

And now for my fiercest catwalk strut:

Sad, I know.
